#YourCampingStory - Camping Amfora, Eugénie Verdaguer

Camping managers and professionals from the sector open their doors to us and speak on the Harmony Heart Camp blog, to share with us their day-to-day life and their knowledge of the territory.

Today Eugénie Verdaguer takes the floor from Camping Amfora, in Sant Pere Pescador (Gerona).

Harmony Heart Camp : When your clients come on vacation for the first time, what advice do you give them? What is the most important thing to do?

Eugénie Verdaguer: at Amfora we advise you on the experience that you cannot miss depending on your age. The little ones will be delighted to go have fun with Amfi and Puppu at the mini disco, it's time to dance! Children from 8 to 12 years old will be able to excel and entertain themselves with their friends or family in the Challenge Park, a fun and sporty obstacle course: who will win the victory? Teenagers and adults will be able to live a new experience by letting the kitesurfing or windsurfing sails fly. Strong sensations guaranteed. And for a unique experience all together, we recommend discovering the Bay of Alt Empordà by balloon.

You know that you will soon receive clients who have been confined to your home for several weeks… What is the best advice you could offer them to take advantage of these moments at your Amfora campsite?

I would advise you to enjoy the outdoor activities of our natural environment. We are located in a privileged area between the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park and the ruins of Empúries. I would also suggest to my clients to breathe in the sea breeze while strolling along our great beach. Get lost on the banks of the river to observe different types of birds. Travel the Vía Verde by bicycle to discover characteristic landscapes of our region (apple orchards, sunflowers and rivers).

Moments to share with the family

It delayed its opening dates due to the coronavirus and it has time. Have you thought about services directly linked to clients who will seek coexistence, but also security?

Our campsite is known for its cleaning services. We will continue to work assiduously to guarantee the hygiene of our toilets and other facilities. Our staff will listen to our clients and will do everything in their power to respond to their needs.

You, who grew up in Catalonia, know your region or the people who live there well. Could you give us your definition?

Between sea and mountains, Catalonia has its own identity. Delimited by the Pyrenees to the north and bathed by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, it is a little corner of paradise where you can live at ease. The region is extremely diverse: the great wild spaces seduce nature lovers, the small medieval villages are architectural treasures and the long beaches, with their Camino de Ronda, convey a feeling of freedom. Catalonia is above all a land of culture and traditions. The popular festivals are ideal to discover it: the castellers (human towers of more than 10 floors), the sardana (traditional dance), the gegants (parade of figures of giants and big heads), as well as the delicious local gastronomy.

You have many loyal customers at the Amfora campsite, why do you think people come and come back to your campsite?

Undoubtedly due to our privileged location, our clean facilities and our ecological commitment, which complies with the EMAS seal guidelines.

Camping is primarily human contact and exchanges. Give us the 3 words or expressions that best define your reception team, the values and the spirit of your establishment:

  • Empathy
  • Coexistence
  • Implication

Do you establish special cancellation conditions, lighter general conditions of sale, to facilitate the purchase act of your future clients? If so, which ones?

We do not communicate about it, since we treat each case in a particular way.

Could you share a secret with us? For example, what do you like to do when the campsite closes at the end of the season?

After a good season, I am going to relax in some unknown place, discover a different environment and live unexpected experiences.
